ND_Cover Page (redraw)

Drawing this turned out to be a very relaxing exercise. It was intended to be a practice for a "draw this again" thing I'm planning to do, but ended up being an almost completely different drawing. The original idea was to simply redraw the very first picture related to Northern District I drew, but I realized it was a better idea to keep the concept only, using the character's current design, and adding, em... details (gee, the original pic was boring).

It's fun how, at the start, the two kids had the same expression of having no idea of what was going on.

Chris has grown to be a much more relaxed person (thanks to that hakuna matata-esque timeskip), even when he still snaps and goes into creepy-mode from time to time. Losing his father made him feel like he had nothing else to do, so his stress levels went down (one of the advantages of not having a soul is that the emotional side of things virtually doesn't affect you). He's still a bit thin and pale, and doesn't like to talk much, but he has become much nicer than he was at the start. In the other hand, after joining the Rebel Brigade, Alan started to realize the world was much darker and complex than he thought. Even when he still has the traits of an idealist, training and the usual aspects of growing up have turned him into a notoriously less cheery, evasive version of his old self. He still has hopes, but hope is scary, so he prefers to avoid being positive. He's still a good kid at heart, though. But it's gonna take some work to get him out of that.
